Pointer & Retriever Training for Upland Game & Waterfowl Training for Your Water Dog Training is performed by experienced, professional trainers, using all the latest equipment. Our program is generally a 6 to 8 week program designed to provide the Hunter with a good hunting companion. Full service bird-dog training is $140.00 per week. All training includes board, training, equipment use, and birds at no extra charge. The Owner is expected to come up every 2 to 3 weeks to see their dog's progress as well as to get some 'hands-on' training themselves. Saturday Morning Lessons & Seminars Every Saturday morning starting about May 1st, we are doing private lessons and Open House at Olive Hill Kennels. This is a great time to stop by if you're interested in purchasing a bird dog or have training you need on the dog you already have. You are welcome to come out and watch the dogs in training. For a nominal fee, we will work your dog on a private lesson. Whether it's starting your pup or steadying to wing & shot, we'll be happy to help you out! Bring your 6 to 7 month old pup in for his 'Introduction to the Gun'. 'Gun shyness' is a man-made problem and is nearly impossible to correct. Please don't take your dog to the Gun Range to get him accustomed to the gun! We recommend that you get some professional help with this aspect of the training so that it is done correctly! This is generally a one-week program. We'll get him chasing out on birds'having a good time with that'and over the course of the week, shoot over him using a starter pistol, and a shotgun. He'll have a great time, and this will really build his enthusiasm! Pre-Season Tune-ups Birds We offer a variety of birds for sale including Bobwhite Quail, Chukar, Pheasants, Courtournix Quail, and Pigeons. Prices start at $3.00.
Our Obedience Training is offered for many breeds of dogs teaching all of the basic commands. Our's is a 30-day program where the dog stays with us. We want the owners to come up ½ way through the month to see their dog's progress as well as to get some 'hands-on' training. At the end of the month, we'll give you another lesson so that you know how to transfer the training from us to you! That way when you get him home, he'll understand that he has to listen to you as well as to us! Cost is $140.00 per week, which includes board as well as training.
Bring your pup in for lessons beginning at about 3 months of age. We'll show you how to work him on live birds and will show you things that you should be doing with your pup as well as things not to do with your pup to get him moving along on his training. You are welcome to come out and watch the dogs in training. For a nominal fee, we will work your dog on a private lesson. Whether it's starting your pup or steadying to wing & shot, we'll be happy to help you out! Private Lessons We offer private lessons to owners who wish to do their own training. Cost is $25.00 per lesson plus any birds that are used.

Your dog should also have a good flat collar (3/4' to 1' wide) with a belt-buckle type buckle. (The plastic snap apart collars are not acceptable. Also, we cannot be responsible for lost, broken, or missing collars, tags, toys, bedding, etc. so you might want to keep your tags at home.) Hours of Operation
